Our school lies at the centre of the farming village of Awliscombe, a mile and a half from Honiton. Children can join our nursery, Cygnets, from the age of three, and leave us, aged 11, at the end of Year 6, the majority going on to Honiton Community College, Kings School in Ottery St Mary or Colyton Grammar School.
We are fortunate in having a self-contained Early Years Foundation Unit with it's own building and separate play area next to the main school. This is home for the Cygnets nursery children, with their dedicated nursery practitioner, and the Reception class, Swans, under it's own teacher.
As a small school we are proud of our strong sense of family, where children of all ages play together, all children are known to all the staff, and parents are an important part of the school community. Many of our parents, and other members of the village, attended the school themselves (our senior alumnus still living in Awliscombe started at the school in October 1933) and the support of the local community is one of the school's great strengths.
If you are new to our site, please take the time to read about all the things our children do at Awliscombe. If you would like to find out more, please call or email to arrange to come and see us.
