Parish Church
We are fortunate to enjoy excellent relationships with our local Parish Church community. St Michael’s and All Angels Church is situated next door to the school, whilst the vicarage is on the other side of the school. We feel very much part of the church and its community.
Our lovely vicar Fr Allan Sheath, fully supports the school. He helps us to sustain our spiritual growth and develop our Christian distinctiveness. Fr Allan leads our Monday morning service each week in church and a Eucharisitc Service at the end of each term. In addition Fr Allan supports the staff, pupils and parents pastorally. We are extremely grateful to him and his wife Marilyn. Their dog Molly is a great favourite with our children!
Our excellent relationships with the Parish Church contributed towards the the positive Anglican Schools report (June 2008) which stated that “The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Awliscombe Primary as a Church of England school are Good. The committed leadership of the head teacher with the full support of the wider school community is ensuring the school is well placed to increase still further its good reputation.”
