• Christian faith and values guide and inform everything we do.
• Children have an enthusiasm for learning: We think that the best schools encourage all children to be curious, inspiring them with a love of learning that will prepare them well for life, whatever their natural ability.
• Every child achieves to their full potential: One of the greatest delights for both parents and teachers is when a child manages to do something that they thought was beyond them. At Awliscombe, our goal is to ensure that every child will achieve more than they thought they could and their confidence, and willingness to aim high, will grow with every achievement.
• Our school has a family atmosphere, in particular the way that children of different ages play together and look out for one another: there is a real sense of belonging.
• We encourage children to help others: the idea of service to the community may seem a little old fashioned, but we are happy to see it is alive and well at Awliscombe and providing a refreshing antidote to the “me-first” world.
• We encourage children to appreciate and be stewards of the beautiful natural environment surrounding the school: the stewardship of our planet and its resources is one of humanity’s greatest challenges, and the appreciation of its natural beauty and variety can provide one of humanity’s greatest joys: we are lucky enough to have a classroom all around us
